Auction Fundamentals Has Arrived!

auction-fundamentalsAfter six months in the works my newest eBay tutorial course is finally ready to launch. This is the second eBay training product I have produced, the first being a DVD course that is now a few years old and in need of an update.

But rather than updating the eBay course I decided to create a whole new course from the ground up. It takes you through the business building process right from opening an eBay and Paypal account all the way through niche selection, product buying, listing, templates and even customer service and keeping your 100% feedback.

So if you are new to eBay or if you have been selling for a while but not managed to get to make it earn as much as you would like this course will help you achieve your goals.
Take a look at the short intro video for more information..

Ebay Sellers Could Lose Their Top Rated Seller Badges

Thousands of ebay sellers could lose their “Top Rated Seller”  or TRS badges from their auctions next month in a forthcoming update from ebay.

This affects sellers using the ebay.com marketplace so mainly US sellers or international sellers using the US marketplace.

The update sees a new status introduced called “Top Rated Plus” badge that sellers will get if they meet the normal TRS guidelines plus some new requirements.

What many sellers may not realise is that if they don’t meet the new guidelines they will no longer have the Top Rated Seller badge displayed on their auction pages, it will still be in effect but only shown on sellers feedback page and no longer on the main auction page.

[showmyads]

To stop their TRS badge disappearing sellers must meet the new standards which will enable them to have the Top Rated Plus badge displayed instead.

To qualify for this status sellers will need to have 1 day handling time for orders plus offer a 14 day returns and money back guarantee for all their listings. If you already offer these options on your account you will automatically be awarded the new plus status but I’m sure many sellers will not hear about this in time and so the first thing they will know is when their TRS badge will dissapear from their listings.

There is Still Time
This new update comes into place on November 12th so there is still time to make changes to your listings and warn other ebay.com sellers. If you want to help get the word out tweet this article and share it on facebook using the buttons above to let others know before November 12.

This is the latest of several new updates from ebay in the last few months where we have seen a new logo, a new style product feed and the quiet deletion of ebay Pulse with no replacement.

Many of these changes have been for the better but I still can’t understand why they would take down a valuable resource like Pulse with no plans to replace or upgrade it. I’m not surprised ebay sellers are becoming disillusioned with ebay in recent times.

How do you feel about all the changes? Is your business better or worse because of them? Are ebay moving in the right direction? Have your say in the comments below.

Ebay Rolls Out a Whole New Image

Today eBay has unveiled its new image and sets out plans to redesign the way we use and interact with the site.

The first thing you will notice is that the logo has changed, it looks alot cleaner, more modern but the changes go much further and much deeper, ebay is evolving and embracing the new media world.

Over the coming days and weeks ebay will be rolling out its new “feed” system for the front page, it is a personalised feed of differnt items listed on the marketplace based around your past buying and search history.

[showmyads]

This is a “Pinterest Style” photo feed that gives a simplified view of what’s available but using an advanced way of choosing what you see. I can see this being a very powerful way to engage with the buyer as after some customizing it will show you exactly the type of thing you are interested straight away as soon as you arrive at the site.

The president of ebay Devin Wenig said in a press release on eBay:

“The changes we’re making reflect the new eBay and our evolution as a marketplace that connects the world to the things they need and love”

I predict we will see an overall rise in sales once things settle down and everyone gets used to the new way of shopping on the site. This new feed is rolling out on ebay.com right now and internationally over the next few days and weeks.

So what do you think of the new changes? Do you like the look of the new logo? Have you tried the new feed?

Are ebay moving in the right direction with this new approach or are they losing sight of what once made ebay great?

Has eBay’s Pulse Finally Stopped?

We all know eBay Pulse as the go-to page for finding the most searched for terms in any given category on eBay, it’s an important part of niche research and determining what we should sell and to whom.

This week there have been unconfirmed reports that eBay Pulse has been taken down, this may be a temporary glitch or something more permanent, as of yet no official word from eBay themselves. Browsing to the sub-domain pulse.ebay.co.uk as of today just redirects to the eBay home page, I have checked the US .com version and it does the same thing so I’m going to stick my neck out and say that this looks to be a deliberate decision and could we expect a better more advanced version to take its place?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

We’ll miss you Pulse old thing – Its been emotional..

eBay To Ban Wholesale & Dropshipping Lists

Breaking News!
eBay have just announced that from the 1st September they will be banning the sale of all Wholesale and Dropshipping lists for the auction site.

This news comes as part of a routine clean up that eBay carry out once in a while, the have not stated the reason for this ban but I would guess that this type of material gets more than its fair share of complaints to eBay and so from time to time they remove the worst offenders.
[showmyads]
The issue with Dropshipping and Wholesale lists on eBay is that they are generally sold by people looking for some easy money and they are nothing more than a word document with some website addresses on, quite often they are out dated and some of the links don’t work or the sites no longer exist. There is usually nothing of any value in them and a simple Google seach would generate the same if not better results.

So in my opinion this is a good move by eBay, Wholesale and Dropshipping contacts are a very important part of creating a business online and you need to ask yourself if someone is selling a whole list of contacts for 99p or $2.49 what is the value of the information? The answer is zero!

I have built relationships with wholesale suppliers over years, and finding the right ones that are reliable and profitable takes allot of time and effort, screening the not so good ones, picking out the un reliable ones and looking for suppliers that have quality products means that a good one comes along once in every hundred and can be anywhere in the world.

My own suppliers that I have used to build many eBay and eCommerce businesses were found in the US, Europe, China, the UK and are  a result of years worth of work and if I offer access to them it will not be for 99p or $2.49. All things being equal they should cost thousands as they offer the opportunity to build your own lifestyle business where you can work when you want to, from any country you want to and for as long as you want to. How much is that worth? Well the truth is that you cant put a price on it so we have to be realistic and the main reason I started Wholesale Help 5 years ago was to help people like me to build their new future and get the chance to live how they want to and not how they have to.

So I don’t offer a wholesale list, I dont have 7 pages of  web pages, I have contacts from all over the world that I have worked for over 7 years to build, that I have personally tested and made money from and still do today. If you would like access to this you have to pay more than 99p or $2.49 but maybe not as much as you might think.

If you would like my personal help and my personal contacts to build your online business and create your new lifestyle then take a look at the Gold Membership here.
